Events & Activities

We have a full programme of events taking place at the RSM Centre, at the Village Hall and other venues around the area.

On Monday afternoons, we meet at the Village Hall for our main meeting, where we listen to many interesting visiting speakers, share our own stories or occasionally play a game of Bingo.

Knitting & Nattering

Takes place from 2:15pm on alternate Fridays.

Join our circle of knitters for a fun afternoon of knitting and nattering. No need to book, just come ready to knit.

Table Tennis

From Friday 14th October we began Table Tennis Afternoons. These are held fortnightly. At present the maximum will be 12 per afternoon at £2 per person, including refreshments.

Bridge Afternoons

From Tuesday 11th October our fun Bridge Afternoons will be held fortnightly starting at 2:15pm.

The maximum will be 12 per afternoon at £2 per person. This includes refreshments.

Model Group

If you have an interest in model making then why not join us for the first meeting of the new RSM Model Group?

We are launching a group to share interest in model making of all kinds, from model trains and scenery to model rockets. Right now we are just starting out and finding our way, but the idea is to make friends and share some expertise and enthusiasm, and maybe encourage a few more people to get involved in model making.

The first meeting will be at the RSM Centre on Thursday 23 February, from 1:45 to 2:30, for a "Get to know you and what-can-we-do" session. There'll be some refreshments on hand and hopefully some model trains to look at.

Bridge Lessons for Beginners

The RSM Centre is holding fortnightly afternoon Bridge Lessons at the Memorial Institute starting Tuesday 14th February 2012

This will be a 10 session course, suitable for complete beginners, where participants will learn how to play this interesting and friendly group game.

The course costs £30 for the ten sessions, payable in advance.

There are only eight places available, so early booking is recommended. Once the places have been filled, additional names can be held on a waiting list.

Heavenses at Elevenses

Heavenses at Elevenses is a new opportunity to get together for tea or coffee, and then join in short informal act of worship led by our Rector, Nigel Mason.

Come along from 11am for refreshments and a chat. Nigel will join us and there will be an opportunity to share with him any issues for prayer. Then at 11.30am the service will start, lasting about 20 minutes - finishing in plenty of time for luncheon club.

The service will include a song or two, and some scripture reading and prayer too. All informal and inclusive for all.

Heavenses at Elevenses takes place once a month - normally on the third Thursday at the Memorial Institute, on the following dates;

Thursday 23rd February
Thursday 22nd March

Friday Mornings in our coffee room now feature a selection of board and card games to play, as well as a jigsaw puzzle to complete.

Anyone is welcome to drop in and join us for games and friendly chat, and there are refreshments available as usual. No need to book. Just drop in and join in the fun.
