Water Rocket Workshop

In preparation for our Summer Fayre, on Sunday 17th June Andy held a Water Rocket Workshop at the Memorial Institute, inviting children from local schools to come along and find out how to make their own water rockets, and launch them safely.

We began by making fins for the rockets, before trying to glue them on. Fizzy drink bottles are surprisingly difficult to glue on to, so we used loads of PVC tape to hold things in place.

With fins stuck in place we moved across to the Millennium Green to try out our rockets. Each is filled with a little water to give a bit of thrust on launching.
