'Inspiring our Community to Care'

We are here 7 days a week between 9am and 5pm for our whole community (not just older people) providing friendship, practical support and advice throughout this pandemic.

Our team of staff are answering the phone (853021) and we have our amazing volunteers ‘Parish Pals’ ready to help with practical support such as shopping, prescriptions and dog walking. We really want to help so don’t be afraid to ask.

Our local Vaccination Champion, Andy Miller, is attending NHS briefings about the local vaccination programme, and will update local residents regularly.  You can read his reports on our news page.

Medical Appointments

If you need transport for any medical appointment, we have a small team of voluntary drivers. This service has been fully risk assessed to ensure that measures are taken to provide complete piece of mind. Due to insurance purposes this service is only available for members of RSM but please call if you would like details as we can take membership over the phone.

Essential Food Parcels

During lockdown in Spring 2020 we delivered over 1000 food parcels to those shielding or isolating. Should a similar situation occur we will again work with local supermarkets to provide and distribute essential weekly food parcels.

Odd Jobs

If you have something small that needs fixing which can be done either outside or is an item that can be collected, our Rotherfield Repairs are waiting and ready to help.

Financial Support

Working with our Parish Council we have a small fund so that volunteers can pay for your shopping. We can then arrange payment with you via the telephone using a password system that only you will know.

PLEASE DO NOT GIVE YOUR BANK DETAILS or BANK CARD TO ANYONE THAT YOU DO NOT KNOW.

Please contact us if you are experiencing financial difficulties a we may be able to help you with applying for financial assistance.

Are you a Carer and would like professional advice and support?

We work with Care for the Carers who are an excellent organisation supporting carers across the country. You can call them on 01323 738390 from 10am to 5pm every week day to speak with one of their team of dedicated support workers (the Carers Hub). You can also email at info@cftc.org.uk or text them on 07860 077300.

Dementia Support

Please call us on 853021 and speak to Iona, our Dementia Champion, who can offer support and advise you on how you can access further targeted support and resources.

We hold fortnightly “Time To Talk” sessions for those caring for a loved one with dementia. This is an opportunity to share experiences and support. Contact Iona for further details.

Mental Health Support

Please call us if you need support. We can offer friendship. If however you require professional services you can call the Sussex Mental Healthline 0300 5000 101. The Sussex Mental Healthline offers crisis care for people in urgent need of help with their mental health. It is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
